Engineers at the University of California at Los Angeles have developed solar cells that absorb light primarily in the infrared range and therefore have sufficient transparency for use in windows and screens of electronic devices.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published a patent application for Apple's navigation system based on the data that users enter, according to AppleInsider. The application was submitted in December 2011.
