The trial production of the fifth-generation iPad could begin in July, and the gadget will be available in September. Thanks to the use of new technologies, the tablet with a screen of 9.7 inches will be 15% lighter and thinner by 30%, and the design will resemble a 7-inch iPad Mini. According to the source, their monthly volume of production will reach 3.2 million units.
The tablets show the highest increase in sales, but consumers have begun to lose confidence in the US-based gadgets - iPhone satisfaction has declined over the year by 2%.
The gadget will get a Retina-display with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels - these displays are used for the production of iPad 4. A new generation of thin tablets will receive a displays made of glass with a thickness of 0.2 mm instead of 0.25 mm, as in the previous models of the gadget. The iPad 5 screen will also have a smaller number of LEDs for illumination.
Suppliers displays for Apple's new tablet are LG Display, Samsung Display and Sharp.
The touchpad of the fifth-generation iPad will be made using the technology of GF2, which allows to produce devices with a single layer of glass, not two, as it is done with technology GG, which was used to create the fourth version of iPad. The new gadget battery capacity is 9000 mAh, which is lower than previously used, to 25%. Presumably, the next iPad will have a new quad-core A7X.
Previously, it was also reported that the new version is to be smaller than traditional version: 4 mm in height, 17 mm width and 2 mm depth. Memory of the device will be from 16 to 128 GB. The resolution of the back camera tablet will be 5.8 megapixel, of the front one - 1.3 megapixels.
The colors of the device remains the same - the model will be available in white and black versions.
The cost of the gadget can be $ 499 for a model with 16 GB of memory.
