Windows 8 To Be Redesigned

Microsoft will redesign its Windows 8 operating system  in key aspects, and the update with a Blue codename will be released later this year, as Marketing Manager and Windows CFO Tami Reller told to Financial Times.

"We recognize that users are facing real difficulties in the transition [to Windows 8]," - said Reller.

According to the FT, it is almost unprecedented failure of the new product of the major U.S. company. The publication notes that Steve Ballmer takes the responsibility for the failure, he made a bet on an updated interface of Windows 8 to compete with Apple.

Windows 8
Windows 8 was an ambitious attempt to create the operating system, is equally suitable for the PC and  touch tablet computers with the compitible apps, hiding the familiar "desktop" for a mosaic of colored tales. However, the attempt failed: the new interface isn't accepted by the users or experts. Windows 8 is largely led a drop in sales of personal computers (14% in I quarter 2013). Even before the release of the new OS Apple CEO Tim Cook has compared it to a hybrid of the toaster and refrigerator - the product is technically feasible, but cumbersome to use.

Reller did not disclose the essence of the planned changes. But, apparently, we can talk about the return of the "Start" menu and the usual appearance of the desktop.

However, Windows 8 is the company's leading operating system and cannot be considered a failure, stressed Reller. Relatively cheap (about $ 400) Windows 8 tablets are being developed. For six months after the release of the OS on the market has exceeded the number of 100 million of licenses sold.
